Scott, Clouds and rain wore on me a lot more when they were frequent. I don't like the cold weather up north, but I probably like the short, overcast days even less. I can't imagine ever being able to tolerate living up there again.

Down here, I can handle the occasional cloudy, rainy day. And even sort of enjoy it, knowing that it is very temporary, and, in all likelihood I can count on the sun coming back out soon, if not later the same day, then probably tomorrow. Plus, it gives us a chance to chat about the weather with the neighbors. I mean, how many days in a row can you say, "Sure is a hot one today." It's nice to be able to say, "Wow, can you believe how gray it is?" for a change once in a while...

i just noticed an interesting thing. many of my first sentences to paragraphs, and many of my last sentences, contain six words. it does seem to be natural.

i did notice weather pixie's raindrops. you must be almost in the thick of those thunderstorms by now.

i suffer from s.a.d. related to heavy cloudy days. moving to florida was the best thing i ever did.

but much as clouds make me sad, we need the rain.

'my parched back yard needs rain.'

Scott,

You gave me a smile today.

Even though it is raining here.

:)

Actually, to be true of me, I suppose I'd have to say, "Even more sad when it rains" since I seem to specialize in sadness and grief even at the best of times!

P.S.
Did you notice Weather Pixie's raindrops?

That story of mine is probably still five words. I do still trust him, but I must say it is fraught with uncertainty and ongoing choice. Technically, it's a yes, but I think the yes makes it more certain and confident, and less of a struggle than the statement really is to me.

If there were a word for bursting into tears, that could maybe be the sixth word. Yet will I trust him. [followed by tears that express the depth of emotion--joyful, sad, uncertain, frightened and confident in a not very confident way--with which I make that statement.]

Like Habakkuk, my choice moment by moment has still been Yet will I trust him. But, like Habakkuk, that choice, confident as it may sound, comes out of a context full of questions and even some anxiety about the glimpses of what the faithfulness of God that I'm banking everything on, might actually mean.

Ha, obviously my words came back :) This was a fun thing to do. Thanks for passing on the idea.
